Ren is a 22 year old Filipino artist based on Manila. They are a Bachelor of Multimedia Arts Specializing in Animation student. Their works commonly revolve around character design, concept art, and graphic design. Para Po (2020) is a slice of life portrayal of a classic highschool boy travelling in a jeepney. The afternoon setting in Boni traffic has been a nostalgic point of my life - and the wisp of old, warm romance reflects on this fleeting feeling.
Hawak Kamay (2022) is a politically charged digital illustration made for Life and Works of Rizal, wherein it commentates on the past and present struggles that Filipinos consistently go through by relating this phenomenon through the five senses.
"Parang Laro Lamang" (2021) is a politically charged piece reflecting the conflict of today - wherein it portrays the united feeling of “being played” - the political climate being a conflicting hope; toyed like a game of chess.
No Place in the Frames (2021) is a piece dedicated to the subject of gender in the arts; a commentary on female artists and their lack of recognition even in the art industry - put back into place by the patriarchy for their 'set roles' in society.
Self Preservation (2020) is a semi-realistic self portrait showing how one forces to suppress the expression of emotion in order to 'preserve' one's composure or sense of self.

Oyeng is a representation of Ren during the pandemic; designed for an animated short for the subject Animation 2. This simplistic and comedic approach in style helps with easier animation and the short's vibe, as it reflects on everyday routine.

Expression Test (2020). Dedicated to a simpler animation project, this demonstrates that despite the tendency to evolve around more detailed, mature styles - cartoonish styles with bolder lines are also included within artistic range.
Ravn the Technician (2020) is a personal character for a future project. This character style is heavily experimental, as this serves to push the limits of lineless designs mixed with slightly realistic shading and simpler body and face language.

ORGANIZATION WORKS
In Lightbox, also known as LBX 2d Animation Organization, Ren has worked in multiple projects including exclusive merchandise creations as part of the Creative Committee. Aside from illustration, they have also worked as its Internal Communications Officer, adding on the background of copywriting.They have also worked for Pixel Hive, also known as PXH Comics Organization as a Publishing Committee member focused on the creation and publication of original comic zines, contributing in both its layout and writing.
